Currently there is a best-selling book by Bernard Goldberg titled One Hundred People who are Screwing up America. The book names these people and the destruction they have done. Playing on this theme, it occurred to me, why not let all Nevadans, especially sportsmen, know who screwed up this state’s wonderful deer herd by exposing the corrupt public officials who were and are responsible. Through research and investigation I have settled on these following ten as the most notorious culprits of destruction.

The people in Bud Sonnentag’s article, “Ten people who have screwed up hunting in Nevada”, are the reason we have lost the majority of our deer. In addition, they are responsible for the mess that has been created in Nevada Department of Wildlife (NDOW). All of the people Bud listed were in a position to make NDOW a better agency. They had the power to do this but they chose not to.

The question is “Why”? Was it stupidity, selfishness or power? Was it not caring or being protected by an elected official? Each of these individuals failed the sportsmen in their own way. Let’s review them and see what category they fell into.

Number 1: Willie Molini. He was being protected by Governor Bob Miller and Senator Bill Raggio. For this reason he could do whatever he wanted and nothing (like termination) was going to happen to him. He was right.

Number 2: Governor Bob Miller. The former governor should go in the “care less” category. He could care less about sportsmen’s concerns. If it wasn’t a basketball, it wasn’t
considered a sport to him.

Number 3: Terry Crawforth. Another individual who could be placed in the “care less” category. He could not have cared less about the Game Bureau. All that mattered to him was more law enforcement.

Number 4: Governor Kenny Guinn. Strictly power. As governor no one is going to do anything to him other than print the truth about his not caring about sportsmen’s issues.

Number 5: Senator Bill Raggio. Absolutely the worst abuse of power an individual could have. His attitude was “ to hell with everyone and everything. I‘m the lord and master.” To sportsmen, he was the supreme bad politician.

The Ship Be Sinking

Abandon Ship

Terry Crawforth will not be able to muster sufficient support to overpower Nevada sportsmen and rebound after these stochastic events. Terry Crawforth’s reliance on his ability to be Nevada’s ultimate schmoozer, fleecer and equivocator when it comes to sportsmen’s money and what he calls “diverse publics” is over in the wind of opposition. His ship has drug anchor and is foundering on the beaches of his own created and generated  cesspool of mismanagement and corruption. If you look closely he can be seen with nine of his buddies and not one of them are wearing life jackets. The “Emperor has no clothes” and his privates are hanging out for all to see while standing on the deck of his “party-going yacht.” Terry Crawforth, as Michael Ray Richardson said, “Your ship be sinking!”

There is so much to say and so little time to say it. There are so few ways to reach you sportsmen of Nevada. Yet it must be done if you are going to get your wildlife back, especially your famous mule deer herd. The HUNTER’S ALERT newsletter is effective but slow. There is a better and quicker way. The HUNTER’S ALERT website, www.huntersalert .org. This website will be managed weekly with the express purpose of keeping the sportsmen worldwide well informed of Nevada’s plight. I will be seeking support for you locally, nationally as well as internationally. I will personally seek news media coverage from such names as “World Net Daily” and “News with Views.com” so everyone world wide can follow the war that is guaranteed to unfold in Nevada. I will seek support for you from such nationally recognized organizations as “The U.S. Sportsmen’s Alliance” with whom I am connected. V.P. Rick Storey is a sportsman’s sportsman and well deserving of your return support.

“Sage Grouse Blues” (Conservation, Sept/Oct) stated a multitude of reasons for the decline of the sage grouse. However, none of these reasons mentions the sacred “p” word, “p” like in predator.

A public letter to Terry Crawforth

Being eighty years old now with time slipping away so fast, I am compelled to write this overdue letter to you, Terry Crawforth, to refresh your memory of my history that led to my becoming a victim of your corrupt system of which you are now the current director, NDOW. My problems started with the Fish and Game back in 1948 at the age of 23 in Hawthorne, Nevada with my intention of becoming a lion hunter in my naïve attempt to help control some of the livestock depredations the farmers and livestockmen were suffering. Two U.S. senators, Alan Bible and Howard Cannon fifty years ago were incited to go to Washington, D.C. to seek federal aid for Nevada’s serious predator problem. Terry Crawforth, after fifty years the problem still exists today--and worse--because of you.
